Butt lift surgery is preferred by patients who have problems with the size and shape of their hips. There are two separate components of butt augmentation that are used to achieve a more aesthetic appearance: lifting and augmentation. Patients generally use the term lifting. Most patients prefer to have fat grafting in the buttock area if they are really thinking about volume augmentation. Depending on the patient’s body structure, one or both of these procedures may be required to achieve the desired results.

Butt lift is a surgical procedure used to add volume and contour to the buttocks. There are two methods of achieving this: fat transfer or butt implants. Fat transfer is an increasingly popular procedure that uses fat taken from the patient’s own body. Buttock implants are synthetic materials that are placed in the buttock area.

Although a butt lift is a more comprehensive procedure, as excess skin and fat is removed and tightened, the buttocks are lifted to achieve a better contour.

Who can have a BBL?

Candidates for a buttock lift should have realistic expectations of the procedure and be generally healthy.  Buttock lift is a very popular procedure for younger patients. Candidates for Butt lift are people who want to increase the size and contour of their buttocks and have enough fat to be taken for augmentation. Fat transfer, the most common method of buttock augmentation, is very safe, but patients must have a stable weight to undergo surgery, as weight gain or loss can affect the results of the procedure. Ideally, butt lift candidates should have good skin elasticity, as liposuction is used to remove fat and skin elasticity can affect the results.

Butt lift aesthetic stages

Butt lift is a multi-stage fat transfer procedure that begins with liposuction. The fat is removed and the donor areas are shaped, which provides an additional benefit to the patient. Once the fat has been removed, it is slowly prepared for the injection process. The prepared fat is then injected using small cannulas (tubes) and the procedure is complete.

Butt lift recovery process

Butt lift with fat transfer is a minimally invasive procedure with a relatively quick recovery. The liposuction used to collect the fat for transfer is the most challenging aspect of the procedure and causes some swelling and bruising.  Patients can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.
