Mesotherapy was first developed in France in 1952 to treat vascular and lymphatic disorders. However, it was discovered that, depending on the different substances injected, mesotherapy could also be useful in the treatment of chronic pain, hair loss (alopecia), bone and joint disorders, psoriasis and skin rejuvenation. More recently, with the discovery that body fat can be reduced by injecting certain substances, mesotherapy has been widely used for weight loss, cellulite reduction, body contouring, wrinkle removal and facial rejuvenation.

How is mesotherapy performed?

The technique involves injecting selected substances into the subcutaneous fatty tissue through a very fine needle under the dermal layer of the skin. The combination of substances injected depends on the combination prepared by the practitioner, but may include very small amounts of plant extracts, vitamins, enzymes, nutrients, hormones and drugs such as vasodilators, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, beta-receptors.

Mesotherapy usually requires 3 to 15 treatment sessions at 2-week intervals.

Facial mesotherapy has a well-deserved reputation as one of the most successful skin rejuvenation and tightening treatments known to reverse the visible signs of ageing caused by external factors such as pollution, lifestyle and stress.
